Stocking biscuit recipe of 06-01-2016 [Updated on 23-05-2018]

With the biscuit sock this year I want to wish you my best wishes for the epiphany. When I showed this biscuit sock all decorated with biscuits dipped in chocolate and candies to Elisa she was literally crazy with joy, she did not know which part to bite into first. If today you want to celebrate the Epiphany by doing some activities in the kitchen with your children, this recipe can come in handy;) Prepare the shortcrust pastry, cut it out and have fun decorating it with all the sweets you found in your sock, then bring it to the table and it will be 'really a party;) My cicci has a fever today so we will stay at home to make us a lot of cuddles and to nibble on sweets. Happy Epiphany to all and a kiss to all children; *

How to make the biscuit sock

In a bowl, whip the butter with the sugar.

Add the vanilla essence, the egg and continue to work the dough.

Add the flour and mix until you get a smooth dough. Do not knead the dough for too long, this will prevent the cookies from cracking during cooking.

Wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the fridge for at least half an hour.
After the resting time, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface.

Cut out the shape of a sock (mine was about 30 x 20 cm).

And make decorative molds of your choice from the remaining dough.

Place everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 180 ° C for about 10-15 minutes in a preheated convection oven. Attention: the small molds will take less and will cook at different times!

Melt the dark chocolate and use it to glaze a part of the biscuits, always of your choice.

Prepare the icing with egg white and powdered sugar and use it to attach the decorations.

You can decorate the sock as you like, associating shapes and colors as your imagination suggests, even coming out a little from the edges of the sock, if you like.

I concluded with the word BEFANA at the top of the sock, but you can write the name of your children, for example.
Let the decorations dry and serve your biscuit sock.
